The PL29E is the same 400mm Compack glasswasher as the X28E, but with a built-in water softener. That means one unit, one installation, one set of plumbing — and no separate softener taking up space under the counter.
If you’re anywhere in the Midlands, your water is almost certainly hard enough to cause limescale problems over time. Limescale on heating elements means higher energy bills and a shorter life for the machine. The PL29E takes that problem off the table from day one.
Everything else is the same: 13A plug, pump drain as standard, 400mm basket. The price difference between this and the X28E plus a separate softener is usually negligible — and you save on installation time.
